Rooftop Packaged air conditioning units are the perfect solution for commercial situations where large areas require air conditioning. A Rooftop Package unit is a fully self-contained system that is normally located outside the building either on the roof or on the ground. They can also be installed internally but require the condenser air to be vented. Once the system is positioned, ducting for the supply air and the return air is connected and run into the building to distribute air. What are packaged air conditioning units?
Package air con units have all components in one “package.” This unit normally sits on rooftops and blow conditioned air through solid sheet metal ducting.
How do Packaged AC units work?
The package unit is installed adjacent or ontop of a building. Two air ducts connect into the building, one with cold air going in one with room air coming back. The room air coming back gets cooled by the package unit and sent back to the building therefore cooling the space.
What is the difference between Ahu and package unit?
AHU – Air Handling Unit is a commercial indoor unit. Generally installed inside a plantroom it requires an outdoor unit that pumps water or refrigerant to it so it can cool a space. Package unit have all components in one box and do not require an outdoor unit. Normally installed outside a building – if placed inside a plantroom it will require water to cool down the condenser.
