2011 Projects

Christ The King – Randolph Street, Graceville

Works undertaken (2011) - Air Conditioning installed in the Library, Teachers Resource, Workroom and Staffroom. This was an extension to a building that we air conditioned a few years back. The extension involved two new GLA's upstairs and a new resource center downstairs. Again Daikin units were used as they have proven very reliable and effective in the first stage. This was also a design & construct job in which the principal Judy Walsh was very satisfied

Types of systems used:

  • Daikin Cassettes, Multi-splits & individual splits.

Works undertaken (2011) - Design, Construct & Installation of air conditioning and mechanical ventilation to the new Administration building. This was a challenging job that was a long way from our head office. There was a huge amount of planning and logistics to consider. The site also had space restrictions to consider so we came up with a VRV design using Daikin equipment. This minimized the amount of outdoor space required for the condensing units but also gave the flexibility required regarding control. A total of 5 ducted systems were connected to the system that served areas of different purposes.

Types of systems used:

  • 98 kW Daikin VRV with 5 x Ducted Fan Coil Units

Works undertaken (2011) - Air Conditioning to the Administration Building and Teachers Areas. This was an extensive refurbishment of the Admin & Teachers Prep areas. A design & construct job working closely with the Architect to achieve a desired result. The challenge of concealing the outdoor units from view was overcome by our suggestion of reclaiming some unused storage area at the end of the building. The Daikin units fitted perfectly and even though the pipe runs were up to 50 metres long and difficult. The 70 metre pumping capability of the Daikin systems made it simple.

Types of systems used:

  • 3 x Daikin Reverse Cycle Inverter Ducted
  • 1 x Daikin 4 Head Multi-System
  • 5 x Daikin Split Systems

Works undertaken (2011) - Air conditioning to the Administration Block using Actron Ducted and Daikin Split System. This job was a design and construct that required some thought. Instructed by Catholic education directly to come up with a design that would save them some of the $180,000.00 that was estimated for the mechanical side of the refurbishment, we came up with a complete new design that tackled the numerous rooms to be done and the low ceiling height in certain sections. The Teachers Prep area was the perfect scenario for a new product using an inflatable sock to distribute the air. This worked a treat and proved to be quiet and effective. The Architect loved it and with the budget coming in under $100000.00, so did the client.

Types of systems used:

  • 3 x 25 kW Actron Ducted Systems
  • 11 x Daikin Split Systems

Queen of the Apostles – Thurana Street, Stafford

Works undertaken (2011) - Mitsubishi Split and Cassette systems installed into the Library, Workroom and office areas. This was a refurbishment of an existing building. The lack of ceiling space was always going to be an issue in the main library area. We came up with a proposal of using Cassette units and getting custom bulkheads built by a cabinet shop to enclose the head units due to the lack of ceiling space. These proved effective in allowing the units to be centered in the room and also getting drainage to desired locations with the in-built pumps. Also the use of the 10kW Mitsubishi Multi-split helped with space saving. At the end of the day it was the perfect result and another happy client.

Types of systems used:

  • 3 x Mitsubishi Reverse Cycle Inverter Cassettes
  • 10 kW Multi Split System
